Manual of
Classification for Agricultural and Forestry
Research, Education,
and Extension
The Manual of Classification is used to classify all records documented in the Current Research Information System. The classification codes are also used for retrieval purposes. In October, 2005, Research Problem Area was renamed Knowledge Area and the category was expanded to include additional areas of research, education, and extension. Searching on the new KA codes (136, 141, 704, 724, 806) will produce limited results until they come into general use on new records entering the database. You can download the current version of the Manual (VII) as well as the two previous versions (VI, V). A table listing the current CSREES Strategic Goals and Objectives is also available. The PDF format requires the Adobe Acrobat Reader.
